Surgeon Bio

Dr. Singel is a neurosurgeon in Silicon Valley, California.
He graduated from Freie Universität Berlin with an earned Medical Doctorate, magna cum laude.
He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Molecular Neurobiology for three years at McGill University, Montréal, Québec, Canada in the lab of Albert Aguayo.
He was Visiting Fellow at universities and hospitals in China including HuaShan Hospital of FuDan University (复旦大学华山医院) in Shanghai (Department of Neurosurgery), Sun Yatsen University of Medical Sciences (中山医科大学) in Guangzhou, and Taipei Veterans General Hospital (台北榮民總醫院) in Taiwan.
Dr. Singel completed a residency in Neurological Surgery and served as Chief Resident in Neurosurgery at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) under chairman and internationally renowned trauma neurosurgeon Professor Lawrence “Larry” Marshall.
Dr. Singel completed a fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology and Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery at the Baptist Memorial Hospital of the University of Memphis, Tennessee with John Barr (Interventional Neuroradiology) and Clarence Watridge (Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery).
He was appointed Associate Clinical Professor in Neurosurgery at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and served as Director of the Peggy Herman Neuroscience Center in Napa, California.
He participated in the training of resident surgeons at Stanford University where he was appointed Associate Affiliate Clinical Professor in Neurological Surgery.
He is currently in Private Practice at Cerbo Clinic Neurosurgery, serving patients in Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area. He enjoys conversing with his patients and their families in his native German, English, Chinese (普通话), French (Québécois) or Spanish.
